Entry #3 Doug Ducey Rhetoric

For this article the audience Doug Ducey is trying to speak directly to is both parents and students. He is trying to inform the audience of how important it is to go to college after high school and to graduate with a degree. He mentions how education can bring many opportunities as well as economic benefits to college graduates. I agree with him,

and I do believe that education is important to be successful in your life you are able to learn things that will be helpful for you in the future. But, college is not for most people It can be very stressful and difficult to include in their busy schedules so everyone should be able to have a choice when it comes to wanting to continue education after high school. It is great to hear that if we reach 60 percent of college certificates that wages would go up and poverty will reduce by 17.3 percent. It is great for the economy and can help families be supported financially because of the many job opportunities that come with a college degree. Ducey sets the tone for this article as a more formal but uplifting sort of writing he is trying to inform you why we need more college grads while still being casual in away. He is not trying to seem formal when writing he wants to connect to the audience in a cooler tone but still getting his point across by mentioning data on what could happen to the economy if more people graduate. I do hope to graduate college because it can better my life and could lead me to a great career and I hope you all will stay in school too we got this!
