In this film the director, Michael Moore is showing us what capitalism is and what it is doing to American citizens all around the nation. In this movie we see families being kicked out of their homes, corporates gaining money off of worker's deaths all because of the government system that is capitalism. The intended audience for this film the American citizens but also corporate people that may be engaging in the messed up things we are seeing in this film. We know that these are the intended audience because in one scene a woman who just got her home taken away for corporate value tells the audience " How could they do this to someone" insinuating that someone must be pure evil to do this to anyone. The director wanted citizens to realize what is going on in our nation and how people are getting screwed over so that large corporations can make extra money from hardworking people. Moore also wanted to show these evil people what their actions of greed and gain are doing to these people and he made it known in this film. One scene that really spoke to me was the scene of a man who was injured and sought healing from Jesus Christ but instead of seeing what we all believed that Jesus would have done because it was in the bible, we hear that Jesus can not heal the man because it was a preexisting condition and his insurance won't cover it. Moore used a more serious tone for this scene because it is the ugly truth that higher people in the economy do not follow the beliefs in the bible that state that everyone should be treated with care. One other scene that was very powerful to me was in the ending were we see Moore going to all the major banks in New York and even the Stock Exchange building and covering them in police caution tape. It was rebellion he was tired of them scamming innocent low-income people for their profitable gain he had enough of it. He set the scene pretty well we could see in his eyes and his action that he's truly had enough and that he even had the bravery to do this is incredible. He truly showed the audience what the film's purpose was and that we should be run by democracy, not capitalistic gain.
